The 1st Kubuqi Award 2019

Elion Charity Foundation held the first "Kubqi Award" - Desert Governance Entrepreneurship Competition in 2019 Talk about Desertification" Short Film Competition for Secondary School Students. The Kubuqi Prize encourages young people in Hong Kong to pay attention to desertification issues, think about global and national desert governance and sustainable development issues, and discover outstanding and potential talents to make positive contributions to the Belt and Road environmental governance model. The application for the competition received enthusiastic response, and finally received 68 entries from the secondary school group and 94 application forms for the university group, among which students from different institutions and departments participated.

The Kubuqi Award is supported by the government and large enterprises, including the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Education Bureau, Barclays Bank, Cathay Dragon, Tibet Water Resources Holdings and Ernst & Young and other institutions. Under the guidance of Barclays staff, the 14 shortlisted students received careful guidance during the preparation of the proposal, especially provided professional advice on financial budget, which improved the quality and completeness of the proposal. The competition was widely reported in newspapers, TV stations and radio stations, allowing the public to deepen their understanding of desert governance.
