第二屆「庫布其獎」參賽人數超越上屆

 

【香港‧2023年11月 日】ESG為社會現時熱門議題,行業專才可謂供不應求,部份公司更以10萬月薪聘請ESG分析師,吸引不少青年人材加入此領域。而第二屆「庫布其獎」舉辦的兩項大賽能夠先行訓練學生對綠色金融的商業觸覺,旨在拓寬學生未來的就業思路,并為其投身綠色金融和ESG行業打好基礎。

在過往的兩個月中,第二屆「庫布其獎」大學簡介會於香港教育大學、恒生大學、中大氣候變化博物館、香港專業教育學院沙田分校、城市大學、科技大學、理工大學以及嶺南大學共八間院校成功舉辦。多位專家講者受大赛筹委会邀请,在简介会中為學生進行深層次的行业知識普及,其中包括ESG、綠色經濟、綠色金融科技等議題,并親身解答學生對相關行業的疑問,引導學生興趣發掘相關方面的就業方向。簡介會現場反應熱烈,同學們更是在問答環節踴躍發問,表現出對本項大賽的濃厚興趣。

億利公益基金董事葉廣濤先生在簡介會中提及,本屆大賽能夠引導學生認識綠色經濟,這將對學生未來的職業方向有著莫大的幫助︰「各行各業在未來趨勢都需要包含綠色經濟的概念,期望同學們可以盡早瞭解並打好基礎,贏在行業的起跑線。本次活動在協助同學們未來事業發展的同時,更能推動社會推動可持續發展進程。」

 

本屆「庫布其獎」國際沙漠可持續發展大賽參賽隊伍數目共有87隊隊伍報名,而「談談可持續」中學生短片比賽更突破至97組報名隊伍,成功超越上屆。比賽目前在作品收集階段,其後將由初賽評審選出10組參賽隊伍進入決賽,之後會有大賽導師計劃協助隊伍完善計劃書。作爲大賽導師計劃的培訓夥伴,香港數碼港將招募社群初創企業家成為導師,為入圍隊伍進行培訓。香港數碼港金融科技總監嚴滌宇表示︰「數碼港的社群匯聚了不少專注於綠色金融科技的公司,創新解決方案包括綠色金融、環境、社會和管治(ESG)報告和投資、碳信用交易及責任採購數字市場等,相信數碼港的初創企業家可以助力大賽參賽隊伍,為香港成為領先的綠色科技及金融科技中心培育更多人才。」

The 2nd Kubuqi Award Sees Surge in Student Engagement in International Desert Sustainable Development Contest

 

[Hong Kong, December 2023] - Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) concerns are currently at the forefront, resulting in a heightened demand for industry professionals. Some companies are offering monthly salaries of up to HKD 100,000 to attract ESG analysts, enticing many young talents to venture into this field. The 2nd Kubuqi Awards, comprising the International Desert Sustainable Development Proposal Competition and the "Speak Sustainability" Secondary School Short Video Contest, aims to cultivate students' business acumen in green finance, broaden their career perspectives, and lay a foundation for their involvement in green finance and ESG industries.

Over the past two months, introductory sessions for the 2nd Kubuqi Awards were successfully conducted at eight universities and institutes, including the Education University of Hong Kong, Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Sha Tin Campus), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Lingnan University. Expert speakers were invited to provide comprehensive industry knowledge, covering topics such as ESG, the green economy, and green financial technology, addressing students' questions and steering their interest toward relevant career paths. The students' response was enthusiastic, with active participation in the Q&A session, showcasing a keen interest in the competition.

Mr. Plato Yip, Director of Elion Foundation, emphasized in the briefing session that this competition can guide students to comprehend the green economy, offering significant help in shaping their future career paths: "In the future, various industries will need to incorporate the concept of the green economy. We hope that students can grasp this early on, building a solid foundation and gaining an advantage in the industry's starting line. This event not only aids students in their future career development but also propels sustainable development in society."

 

The 2nd Kubuqi Awards International Desert Sustainable Development Proposal Competition received a total of 87 team registrations, surpassing the participation numbers of the inaugural Kubuqi Award in 2019. The "Speak Sustainability" Secondary School Short Video Contest witnessed an overwhelming registration count of 97 teams. Currently in the proposal collection stage, the preliminary judging will finalize 10 teams to enter the finals. Expert mentors will subsequently assist the teams in refining their proposals. As the Official Mentorship Partner of the Kubuqi Award, Cyberport will recruit community entrepreneurs as mentors to provide training for the shortlisted teams. Mr. Victor Yim, Head of Fintech at Cyberport, stated, "Cyberport's community houses numerous companies focused on green financial technology, offering innovative solutions in green finance, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and investment, carbon credit trading, and responsible procurement in the digital market. We believe Cyberport's entrepreneurs can mentor and support the finalist teams, nurturing talents for Hong Kong to become a leading center for green and financial technology."
